Enable UNIX-based Applications in Windows

I recently discovered a nifty new feature in Windows 2008 and Vista called Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications (SUA).

SUA includes an OpenSSH server among other UNIXish features.

To enable SUA, click on the following:

  • Start
  • Control Panel
  • Programs
  • Programs and Features
  • Turn Features on or off
  • Features
  • Add Features
  • Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications
Then reboot your PC,
